Ours is a delightful tale of two sisters living an ocean apart, who heard the siren-call of bonnie Scotland and hand-picked Scottish Clans and Castles for its Classic Outlander Tour, resulting in an adventure-packed, joyful reunion in September. Where to start with our praises? The accommodations were top notch. The food was delicious.. Kate, our skilled driver and tour guide, was fabulous! She was well-organized, yet flexible as needed. She was a great storyteller of Scotland’s history. very personable, having a great sense of humor, and just so much fun to be around!

When I was able to book the last open slot of the last Outlander Tour of the season, I thought I was lucky. Now that I've taken the tour, I know how fortunate I was to use Clans & Castles to book my first trip to Scotland. I can't speak highly enough of the communication and organization provided in preparation for the tour. Diana answered any questions promptly and with a friendly manner.

The tour itself was wonderful. First, our guide, Andrew, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the sites and other points of interest. He offered great recommendations of places to eat and where other services were available. I always felt comfortable with knowing the itenerary as he was good to inform us each day and throughout the day what are plans were. In addtion, he had a wonderful sense of humor which was appreciated as I'm sure he, at times, felt like he was herding cats! An additional highlight was when Andrew stopped so us Americans could take pictures of the Highland coos.

Everything about the tour was a delight. The sites chosen to visit, the accommodations and the advantage of having certain entrance fees pre-paid through the tour were all spot on. The dinner meal provided by the tour at Invernairne was delicious and in a beautiful setting. Carberry Tower provided a complimentary bottle of proseco to our group on the last night of the tour which made the experience of staying in a castle even more special.

I can't compliment Diana and her staff enough for making my first, and long awaited, trip to Scotland so memorable and enjoyable. I hope to return one day to visit even more of the beautiful and friendly country. I'll certainly consider booking future tours with Clans and Castles.
